Barefoot4Haiti

Life Christian Center has teamed up with Soles4Souls, Inc. to help with a project called Barefoot4Haiti. People all around America are sending shoes to be given to people in Haiti who have none. So far Life Christian Center has given 208 pairs of shoes to Haiti and more are still coming in. We want to thank all of you for your support and for your willingness to reach beyond the boundaries of our own country to help people in need, you are truly being the hands and feet of Christ. If you would like to donate your used shoes please bring them to Life Christian Center at 721 Princeton Road in Madisonville, KY. Haiti Trip

Most people by now have heard of the devastation that Haiti has suffered in recent months from the earthquake and aftershocks. Last November, LCC was able to send two of our men to be a part of a team to rebuild on the Pentecostal Church of God’s compound in Port Au Prince, Haiti. That building along with about ten other on the compound have been destroyed beyond repair as well as the security wall that surronded the entire compound.
Since the wall has fallen, there have been many who have sought safety and shelter on the compound grounds. There are currently 1,150 people on the grounds living in 110 tents. There have been six new births since the earthquake and three more mothers are expecting any day.
On April 5th, LCC will be sending a team of eight men to go and help rebuild the wall and help with some of the needs of our churches and congregations there in Port Au Prince and the surrounding areas. A large portion of them are from our churches but at the same time the other half are unsaved.
The harvest field is great, the needs are great, the work seems limitless, but our God is a BIG GOD! Your prayers are much needed. Please remember to pray for our team as we go to work and to minister to the people of Haiti. If you would like to help out financially please contact our office by email or phone.

The youth also attended Jr. Talent on Feb. 20th. They all did a wonderful job and the Ambassadors in Motion move on to nationals!

Kids Kingdom competed at The Jr. Talent at Murray Church on Feb. 20, 2010. They had two choirs and one dance team. Each group placed as well as some of the kids got awards for their solos. Everyone did a fantastic job!

Love Affair

Marriage is designed by God to be a lifelong covenant, a forever love affair. But how do we keep that covenant from being threatened by another kind of affair? Life Christian Center’ s Couples Group will be hosting a 6-part series that will teach you how to protect your marriage and family from adultery. Begining on Sunday, March 14th at 6 pm and continuing through the week March 15th until March 20th at 6:30 pm. The series will end with a potluck on March 20th. We encourage everyone to attend as well as your family, friends, and neighbors. We will all learn how to protect the sanctity of our marriage. If you have any questions please call 270-821-3690.

Couple’s Valentine’s Day Dinner

Saturday, February 13, Life Christian Center will be having the Couple’s Valentine’s Day Dinner at 6:00 pm. It will be a great time of fun and fellowship! Country Cupboard will be catering the event and the cost is $12.00 a person and there is also childcare available for those who attend. They will also be plaing The Newlywed Game! Come on out and enjoy a night filled with laughter, joy, friendship, and fun! Here are some pictures from last year.

A Bit of Inspiration

You know the saying, “You are what you eat.” Well, I don’t know exactly how true that is, but I do know that we are what we say. In other words, what we say will define us. If our hearts are loving, understanding, and holy, then our words will be too. If our hearts are selfish, bitter, and unfaithful, then our words will be too. Think of how you act whenever you get cut off in the car, someone wrongly accuses you, or you get left out of something. What words come out of your mouth? That is what your heart is full of. Jesus had to put up with lots of ridicule, torture, and heartbreak. Yet, His words show that His heart was full of love. Many of us blurp out words in front of children, our spouse, and even in the public eye not realizing how many people we hurt and influence. So the next time you get cut off on the road or have to wait an extra 5 minutes in the grocery line just remember those 4 famous words, “What Would Jesus Do?” Maybe sing a song or recite your favorite scripture instead of saying something you may regret later.

Youth Ice Skating

Last year, at about this time, Axcess 365 took their very first ice skating trip together. Everyone piled into the church van and Pastor Jon’s truck and headed up the road to Evansville. It was a blast! We watched our youth slip and slide, balance and fall for three hours. The funniest moment of the whole night was watching a handful of our youth do the “Chicken Dance” on ice skates in the middle of the rink. By the end of the night they were all wore out but wanted to make this an annual Axcess 365 event. So in keeping with tradition on January 29th we will be attacking the ice once again.
